Florida Fishing Reports on Florida's best Bass Fishing Lakes

Florida Fishing Reports for Peacock bass in Miami, Trophy bass while fishing Lake Okeechobee and numbers of fish in the Everglades

Florida Everglades

When the water levels are down there's not a better fishery in the state of Florida. These fish start spawning in February, they may spawn in the canals or the flats depending on the water level. If the water level is up, you will get to see the great beauty of the Florida Everglades marsh as you will fish over just 2 to 3 feet of water and every strike is on top.Click for Fort Lauderdale Everglades, Florida Forecast

If the water is down you will be fishing the channel systems thru out the Everglades. Do not look down on this, if the water is down it concentrates the fish. Which leads to big numbers. How big you ask?, 100 plus bass a day in many cases, we have had days of 200 plus fish in some circumstancing. It's not uncommon to catch 3,4,5,6 pound bass, but if you're looking for that double digit fish this probably is not the location for you. Stick to the big Florida lakes, but if you are looking for all day action with artificial lures this is the only to be place.

Tight lines and good fishing,

Ida & Osborne lakes

The lake Osborne and Ida chain has so much to offer for the location it is in. The system has canals, big lakes, small lakes, docks and pumps with running water. Lake Ida down to Delray Canal the entire E-4 Canal system connects to the Palm Beach Canal in West Palm Beach to theClick for Boynton Beach, Florida Forecast Hillsboro Canal in Boca Raton. The E-4 system provides nearly 17 miles of angling. However the system interconnects with a number of other canals and waters, ultimately offering access to a total of 40 miles of canals and 670 acres of lakes.

The system has largemouth bass, sunshine bass, bluegill, Redear sunfish, Mayan cichlid, Oscar and peacock bass. Yes, I said Peacock bass.

This system provides great top water action, very good carolina rigging and lots of site fishing. A place that is convenient to everyone and everywhere in South Florida. Because of the diversity the weather rarely affects the fishing. When other south Florida fisheries are not fishable, generally you can always find a location and pattern here.  Livebait provides good quick action in the lakes as well as the canals system.

The only down side to this fishery is weekend jet skiers.
